SHRAPNEL 2.0 SYMMETRIC CORE

The Shrapnel 2.0 Symmetric Core, used in the XPonent Solid, gave 900 Global a perfect benchmark type reaction. With it’s RG and Diff numbers that really don’t exist across our three brands, this core is perfect to get a read on the lanes. Additionally, with it’s smoother transition off the end of the pattern, it would be a great option with a totally different shape compared to the Zen Gold Label once the lanes dry out. The early revving nature of this core will help balance out the clean nature of the cover.

The Reserve Blend 702 Pearl Cover

The Reserve Blend 702 Pearl Cover, finished with Reacta Gloss, will provide you with great length through the front of lane. This cover was crafted after hours of testing and R&D to be the cleanest cover in the 900 Global line. So many bowlers tell us that their center doesn’t put out any oil. This will be the premier option within the 900 Global line to attack those lighter oil conditions and/or beat up lane surfaces.

Review:
If you are looking for a very medium and very controllable pearl, this may be the ball you want. The new Xponent Pearl reads the lane sooner than I would have expected form a pearl. The Xponent Pearl also has a more controllable shape down lane than I expected from this pearl cover. I personally would have liked to have seen a bit more backend from this ball but I know this would be against the design intent. I also did not feel the ball was forgiving for my style and I had to be more precise with my release. I did let a no thumb bowler try mine out (still with my thumb hole in it) and he saw better results. He had more area but with the same control. This is a good looking benchmark ball to build an arsenal around. I would put this ball between the RIP and Sublime in total hook.

Summary:
The Xponent Pearl has a very nice smooth motion.
This ball should not be jumpy or erratic.
High rev bowlers needing control may really like this ball.

Very clean!
Well here we go! I was happy with the 900 Global Xponent solid bowling balls, and here is the pearl! People looking for a ball when the lanes break down or dry out a little, here you go. I bowl one of my leagues on wood lanes, and this ball is in my bag! Very happy with the way it rolls right out of the box. It gives you that extra length with the 702 Pearl cover and with the Shrapnel 2.0 Symmetric Core, its a great combination for those drier lane conditions. 900 Global has made its way, when the lanes have oil, or when they have light to medium oil....They have it covered!

Xponent Pearl by Roto Grip Rick
900 Global Xponent Pearl ball review:
Bowler specs: 15.5 mph and rev rate in the 380’s and my is PAP is 3 ¼ and at zero up/down and tested on Pro-Lane at ABC North Lanes in Harrisburg, Pa.
Ball specs: Shrapnel 2.0 symmetric core with the reserve blend 702 pearl cover, with box finish with Reacta Gloss.
With adding the Xponent Pearl to the 700 series in the 900 Global line, it gives a ball with RG and Diff numbers that are not available in the Roto Grip or Storm lines of bowling balls, it adds a look that most league bowlers need. The Shrapnel 2.0 is an early revving core and for me the original Xponent was a little flat in back end reaction for me during league. The Xponent is better for me for flatter and challenging patterns because of how smooth the overall reaction is. For the pearl version, it gives a completely different pearl motion of the Zen Gold Label and I am able to shape the shot better because of the RG and Diff numbers. Where the Zen Gold, went longer down lane because the backend reaction would kick in, it tended to not recover quick enough for me on the Pro-lane I bowl league on. As you can see on my YouTube video, the Xponent Pearl and enter the pocket at a bunch of angles, which would allow all different level of bowlers enjoy striking A LOT with the Xponent Pearl.
