I grew up in a bowling family in central Illinois. I started bowling at the age of 2. My father took me out and stuck me at the foul line and I pushed a 6 pound ball down the lane. Hit the Junior leagues at 5 and the Adult leagues at 16. I’m not sure you would say it was easy but I was accomplishing some goals early on. I couldn’t get home fast enough on Saturday after junior leagues to watch PBA on ABC. I was learning a lot from watching and I had the knack to imitate players and that’s when it became my dream to someday be on that stage. I bowled my first PBA event after I won a "Win a Spot" tourney. I quickly got the "bug" after making match play of the True Value Hardware. For the next few years I would bowl an occasional Regional event and bowl in the Mega Buck events (High Roller, Hoinke Super Classic, ect.). With encouragement from Dick Weber I joined the PBA in 87 and went out on Tour in 88. Won my first regional title in 1990. I got off the tour as "LIFE" happened in 91. I had a nice run of a couple of years around 2005-2006 where I won the ABC Team title in Baton Rouge and The Peterson Classic. I bowled sparingly for the next several years and turning 50 regenerated my bowling career. I won the PBA50/PBA60 National event with Kerry Painter and went on to win 4 more regionals as a non member over the next several years. Finally getting the opportunity to join the PBA50 full time in 2022 as a rookie at the age of 60. The rest of this story I am still living so for now I say thanks for reading!
