This ball is strong for me. I needed to hit it with 3000 grit to go through the fronts but I’m liking it more and more!

Review:
I really love the original Reality so when I heard it was going away I stashed a few. I was then told a new stronger Reality version was coming out. Now we have the Harsh reality. This ball has great colors and a stronger cover and definitely reads the lane sooner than the original. This is good if you have more oil up front or overall but you do sacrifice some back end recovery that the original had. I had to move in to the oil and roll the Harsh Reality faster during the testing to get the best results and I am looking forward to getting the ball on the heavier patterns to see what it can do. I have not seen a difference in hit with the A.I. technology in this particular ball like I have seen in other balls that have incorporated it but I feel the conditions I have used the Harsh Reality on have just been too dry for the best results. The Harsh is stronger than the original and I would put it almost with the original Gem in total hook.

Summary:
This is a very strong ball from Global.
The Harsh Reality provides an earlier read and more hook than the original.
The Harsh Reality will be a good choice for oily conditions.

This ball is a lover in my bag! And a lover of oil. Compared to the Eternity PI, it hooks earlier and surprisingly more back end. Compared to the original Reality, definitely a lot more ball. Especially with the new A.I. core technology. I myself with what I normally bowl on, I'm going to like it a lot more once it gets a little more lane shine on it. Throwing this ball...you can see it reacts to the mid lane a lot more. So it loses a little when it reacts too early. A little lane shine on this solid ball I think will work a little better for me on House shots. All I can say is wow does she flare!! This ball is the strongest ball 900 Global has and I'm glad to have it!

900 Global Harsh Reality will be a great replacement for the orginal Reality.
The Harsh Reality uses the same core from the Reality but it’s wrapped with AI technology and new stronger coverstock.
The Harsh Reality will read the mid lane better than the orginal Reality but with a strong continuation on the backend.
The Harsh Reality will be a great option for heavy oil or those longer patterns when your Eternity Pi isn’t strong enough.
I have also found that when your bowling on a wet/dry lane conditions the Harsh Reality is very good at controlling those conditions.

Long story warning:
I’ll be 68 in June and I just started bowling again after 30+ years, due to multiple back problems. Also, I had a minor stroke about nine months ago and decided that I needed more exercise, so I thought I would try bowling again after not being in a league for over 30 years. My shoes had deteriorated, so I bought new shoes, bag and a Storm Hyroad 15lb ball and established a 155 average on a Thursday night league. My highest average 30+ years ago was about 180, so I hoped I could get better, as I learned how to use my new Hyroad ball. Feeling okay, I joined another 4 person league on Thursday night and a 3 person league for Friday night. Wanting to improve, I sought advice from the pro shop owner about buying another new ball that would be more aggressive and hook more, so he told me about the Harsh Reality that was going to be released in a couple weeks. I ordered a 14lb ball, hoping that a lighter ball would be easier on my body and allow me to throw a bit faster in hopes to obtain more pin action. The shop owner watched me bowl a few frames before drilling my new Harsh Reality ball, and then gave me a tip on how to change my stance. I practiced two games to prepare for my Thursday night league later that night, and was very happy to bowl over my average with the new ball on the first day of owning it. The next night, I bowled a 252 on the final game, which I think is my best score ever! The following Tuesday night, I bowled 230, 232, and 229, for a 691 scratch series, another personal best. Needless to say, I’m loving my new Harsh Reality ball, and the great job my pro shop owner did with analyzing my game and drilling the ball to give me such great results.

I hope this review inspires other old farts like me to get back into bowling. You are only as old as you feel and think.

I've had many balls that had lots of carry even on not perfect shots. But, the Harsh Reality hits like no other! For me a 185 bowler who often needs luck...this ball has so much carry that I don't need luck or perfection. Thank you Global 900 for giving me joy on the lanes again.

Having drilled the OG Reality, which to me had the roll and shape of a stronger version of one of my all-time favorite balls – the Roto Grip Epic Odyssey, I was excited to drill an even STRONGER version of the Reality. The prior 2 balls in the Reality series, the Altered Reality and the Reality Check were both hit or miss for me. Both of them were very “condition specific” for me. The Harsh Reality is THE strongest in overall core / coverstock I have ever rolled. A TON more energy going off the end of the pattern and entering the pin deck. It just might be “me” but I really do think I hit the ball hit the pins harder. More of a solid sound hit even on the half and light hits. The coloring for mine is really easy to see and read the ball roll and reaction, I can see the “creamsicle orange” and flat gray colors really well and the coloring has me see the reaction a good deal better than any other recent solids. The Harsh Reality is now the TOP DOG in my arsenal. My go to arsenal for the 2 different centers I bowl in, one center has Pro-Lane and the other center has really worn in HPL, are as follows: Harsh Reality, Attention Star, Absolute Power, Optimum Idol, Hustle RIP, and Lighting Storm spare ball / or Ocean Blue Ice Storm (depending on my mood that morning when I pack up and head out.)

I am a left handed speed/rev matched bowler (410 RPM 17 MPH) and usually I bowl with lower RG and lower diff bowling balls. I have drilled numerous solid asym balls in the past and they just haven't quite worked for my game in the conditions I was bowling on. This week my dad Rich Belcher at Round the Corner Pro Shop drilled me a Harsh Reality and let me tell you, I was sold from the first shot. I didnt see the typical motion I was expecting. This ball starts up early and rolls into the pocket from multiple angles. I was surprised with the amount of area I had to throw into to strike.

Since 2023 I think 900 Global has made the best equipment for my game, I am sold on this great brand.

If you are looking for a first ball out of your bag this is the one, don't even look at anything else!
