Bowling News USA - March 14, 2014 Ryan Shafer, Jeff Carter Join the 'Bus' in Fundraiser...

Former Pittsburgh Steelers star running back Jerome Bettis, owner of the PBA League’s Motown Muscle, will host the inaugural “Bowl with the Bus” celebrity fundraiser at Latitude 40 in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Thursday, March 20, to benefit The Jerome Bettis Bus Stops Here Foundation.

Storm's Ryan Shafer and Jeff Carter will participate in the event along with celebrity guests including former Steelers Chuck Sanders, Craig Bingham and Craig Wolfley among others. General admission tickets are available for $50. Tickets to bowl with Bettis and his special guests are $200 per person. Tickets can be purchased by calling 412-877-6931 or at

The goal of the event is to acknowledge the philanthropic work The Jerome Bettis Bus Stops Here Foundation is doing and to raise money for underprivileged inner-city youth. The Foundation works to improve the overall quality of life for troubled and less fortunate adolescents by offering programs to help them distinguish between healthy and unhealthy life choices. Proceeds from the event will benefit programs for Pittsburgh youth which include computer-engineering programs, asthma awareness and mentorship programs.

“The bowling event is something new we’re adding to the other things we’ve been doing for the Foundation,” Bettis said. “Bowling is my first love after football, so I’m really excited about this event. We’re doing bowling because we get people closer to our celebrity guests than we do in other events, and we’re going to do some clinics for the kids. And I’m definitely planning on getting out there on the lanes myself. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
