Are you feeling lucky? The number 7 has lined up perfectly this year for “Bowling’s Most Complete Tournament”.
The 7th Annual Storm National Mixed Championships again returns to “Bowling’s Most Prestigious Facility”, the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nevada. With 7 different events in two tournaments, twenty-six different prize funds, and loads of activities in the Reno-Lake Tahoe area, this could be your lucky year!
The Storm National Mixed Championships consists of the National Mixed Tournament and the Festival of Bowling Tournament. It will be conducted six weekends in a row between October 1st and November 8th.
What are the Storm National Mixed Tournament and Festival of Bowling Tournament you may ask?
The Storm National Mixed Tournament consists of the three standard tournaments. Mixed Team (2 men – 2 women), Mixed Doubles (1 man – 1 women), Singles (separate prize funds for men and women), and All-Events (separate prize funds for men and women).
The Festival of Bowling Tournament allows bowlers to bowl even more events than the standard three. If you want to switch partners or bowl with a new friend you have just made at the tournament, the Festival of Bowling is just for you. The Festival of Bowling events include Open Doubles (any combination of bowlers, men and/or women) and Open Singles (for those who may not have a doubles partner but would like to bowl a Singles Event or would like to bowl an additional Singles Event tournament). Other events in the Festival are the Senior Doubles (any combination of bowlers, aged 50 and over), Senior Singles, with separate men’s and women’s divisions, and the Adult/Youth Doubles.
The Adult/Youth Doubles has become a favorite event for the many families traveling to Reno. One adult and youth comprise a team and bowl for scholarship prizes for the youth. Competitors may change partners and form other teams, thereby giving families and friends a chance to compete up to three times.
With the exception of Mixed Doubles/Singles you may enter each event up to three times. All bowlers compete in the handicap division. For an additional fee, a scratch division prize fund is offered in all of the events.
In the past six years, the Mixed National Tournament and the Festival of Bowling have awarded nearly $850,000 in prize money including $25,000 scholarship money to youth bowlers.
In addition to the tournament, Special Room Rates have been set up with the tournament sponsoring hotels Circus Circus, Silver Legacy and the newest addition Club Cal-Neva. This year, the Silver Legacy and Circus Circus are offering free room upgrades to group organizers. Book 5-15 rooms at the Circus Circus and get a complimentary upgrade to a mini-suite. If you book 16 or more rooms, the mini-suite is free. The Silver Legacy offers group organizers booking 10 or more rooms a free room upgrade. For reservations, call the Silver Legacy at 1-800-687-8733 (Booking Code – MIXED09), the Circus Circus at 1-866-447-7728 (Booking Code – IBOWL09) or the Club Cal-Neva at 1-877-777-7303 (Booking Code – STORM09). Be sure to mention the Booking Code for your room upgrade.
So you can see the Storm National Mixed Championships has an event for the entire family. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this fun event…This may be your Lucky Year!
