Ryan Shafer

Biography

Ryan was PBA Rookie of the Year in 1987.He made his first TV appearance in his second career tournament, finishing 3rd at the World Open outside of Chicago in 1986. He has made the show in 9 Majors with a high finish of 2nd at both the Tournament of Champions and the US Open in 2006.Ryan was one of three players to be named Bowler of the Year by Bowling Digest in 2000. His best year was 2000 when he made 11 shows winning twice and pocketing over $125,000. Ryan joined Storm in 2001 and immediately made an impact by winning his third title in Las Vegas with an X-IT. He has made 10 out of the last 11 Japan Cup teams and ranks 4th since 2000 with 33 shows. Ryan became the 18th player in PBA history to fire 300 on TV when he defeated fellow staffer and good friend Jeff Carter in Indianapolis on March 18, 2007.Affectionately called Joel by his fellow tour players, Ryan has 4 PBA titles to his credit and plans on improving that number this season with all the great new additions to Storm's bowling ball line. All in all , Ryan has 44 career TV shows and 3 seasons of $100,000 or more in earnings. He was the 30th millionaire in PBA history.
